Re: Burb spare.

Lucifer,
My '65 came with an "under the bed" carrier and back third of gas tank notched to clear spare.

Re: Burb spare.

I dont own a burb, but Id prefer the in truck spare. Same way I have the fender mounted spare on my 63. Just dont like crawling under them...seems my flats come in the worst weather and least opertune places.

Re: Burb spare.

PJT, That's a Sweet Burb.

My 61 came with the spare under the bed as well. You had to crawl under and drop it down off that cross bar-mount(?). My intention was to move it inside, but I didn't want to lose the interior space. I added a tire hoist to mine to eliminate the crossbar support.
As 1963c-10 stated; this can cause problems if you get a rear-tire flat back there or in situations where getting to the spare is unsafe. This chain-hoist came off of a 1987 Nissan truck. I may move it back to the interior later.

Re: Burb spare.

Here is the mount on mine, a home made POS that I don't like. Unfortunately they welded it right to the sheet metal. So id I remove it it'll still look crappy.

OP, I like yours much better. I also like the chain hoist idea.
