Question Installation of Shoulder belts

I was reading a couple of posts here about the installation of shoulder belts in the 67-72's and had a question.

Where the shoulder belt would be installed on my truck, there are metal caps over what I would imagine are bolt holes. How in the world do the shoulder belts hook up here?

One of the reasons my wife hates the truck is because there are ONLY lap belts in the truck. I saw others posting about using belts out of S10's so I figured hey - why not.

Pry off the caps, and there is a nice pre-threaded hole beneath them

You also might try the shoulder harness belts out of a 73-79 chev truck. I installed a set, I think they are out of a 76 truck, and they bolt right in. The mounting bracket is slightly different but it works great - you can use the stock mounting holes in the floor and just remove the plug on the cab pillar to reveal the weldnut.

You read my mind!!! I was going to ask if there was a specific (year) S10 or other vehicle I should be looking for.

I will definitely keep that in mind!

I have noticed that the 73 up fullsize belts would proably work too, and some members have also used them...

Get the belts out of an old-style (82-93) S10 if that is what you decide to do. I think the belts are different on standard and extended cabs, but i'm not sure. Mine came out of an '86 or so S15 GMC standard cab and went in great besides the drilling of one hole.
