You must of had a smile from ear to ear when you got to take the truck out for a rip. I'am in love with your truck. I'll let you park it in my garage and i'll wash it for you too. I'll make sure no harm comes to the truck.

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member
Ha ha thank you guys! I busted my rear on it late last night and early this morning and we drove it 40 miles each way to a parade and car show. We took 1st in the parade and they awarded the top 20 cars in the car show which we got a throphy. I will post a picture later. So rewarding and a really good feeling.

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member
What, your truck is killin me, it is just so cool sounding, wish you lived closer we could trade for an hour and cruise around folling each other, mine is kind of finicky though, a bit to much HP for the 35" tires. thought going to a 14.50 width would help but not to much still just cooks the tires without even trying, Fun fun fun, haha. Learned to drive in a 2wd like that and your is killer more. Thats it got to go for a rip in mine, upload some more video of yours when you can, especially of it running, later man, oh will do a video of mine running.

Mud.man> That`d definitely be cool to swap for a bit, however mine would be a turd compared to what you are use to :-) I will try to get some more pics up later this week. I have to work on my car this week so I can start turning it up and getting ready for a race august 18th.

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member
Yeah I had built v8's but got into imports several years ago. It's pretty cool building a 122ci engine the makes 800+hp at the wheels and still utilizes the stock crank and block.
Here is a cheesy walk around video of my fwd laser. I am expecting mid to low 9's full weight and street driven. I will try to get some pics up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...XujZpM7-U&NR=1

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member
Hey guys here are a few more pics of the build. I had everything on the exterior except the wipers and still needing to adjust the driver side fender out a bit. As for the interior I have the headliner, carpet and wire the dome light and sending unit left.
Running boards I made Finally me and my wife Jenna @ our first car show. BTW we are expecting our first child in December!!! :-)

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member
Thank you guys were are really excited. Trying to figure out what we are going to do to prepare for the baby. Since child care is so expensive it`ll be cheaper for my wife to stay home, so unfortunately we have discussed selling the truck Trust me neither one of us wants to let it go but it would free up a lot of bills and help us get ready for the hospital bills.
That in mind can I ask you guys your opinion on the value of the truck? I might still consider putting a vintage air kit on whereas it would raise the value quite a bit in my opinion. Thank you, Jason

Don't do it! You've built an awesome truck and no one will appreciate it as much as you do. If you sell it the money from it will be gone in no time and you will always regret selling it, just think about all the fun you will have cruising around in it with your kid.

RINC.... story off my life! I buy high and sell low!
1985-GMC... I have thought about all of that and the money would be gone immediately which unfortunately is why I need to sell it. I've started a new job and love it but unfortunately I make waaaaaay less than I did when I started this project!

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member
N2boost, wow ...sell ..the truck, seriously, sell some of the other projects first, please. man I like it so much..but I know how it goes. Sold my 71 3/4 ton Gmc to buy our house ans sold a lot more because a few years later we had twin girls and as always can build another truck. Do what you have to do, still a very cool truck and pretty too. i would sell mine to buy yours but you live a long ways away. Baby's are a whole different but great life. Best thing that has ever happened to us is our girly's. Just finally built a Gm I like and have been married 19 years now, girls are almost 16. Going to teach them to drive my crazy 71 Gm standard trans.

Re: PROJECT: 1950 Chevy 3/4T 4x4... new member
Lets just say it is going to be interesting cause my truck is a bit finicky to take off in, just cooks the 35's a bit to easy, I love it, but is almost work to leave the line nicely, sooo it will be funny when we have some time to start driving and shifting, lots of laughs I'm sure. Almost wish I had a more "normal" standard, but it will be memorable to say the least, and also have 2 girls to teach being twins. I better get the video taping part down ahead of time so you guy's can have a laugh too.
