Factory auxiliary fuel tank

Picked up a '72 Custom Camper, that originally came with a driver side auxiliary tank, but was removed. The filler, which is at the same height as the cab fill, and cover box were still on the truck. I would like to know if anyone has a pick, or possibly dimensions, of these factory tanks.

Awesome! Thank you. Im either going to try and build one, or find a solid used.

Re: Factory auxiliary fuel tank

I see the fill, the whole for the sending unit, but what are the three smaller wholes? Mounting wholes?

I tried finding a good used one for my customers truck, but everyone I came across was ugly inside so I had one built out of aluminum. I found an NOS sending unit on Ebay.
The three little holes are for the mounting bolts. they are long carriage bolts.

Livrat, those are mighty purdy. I mean WOW! Very nice. I don't suppose you would have measurements to share would you?

Re: Factory auxiliary fuel tank

Sorry to say I did not take any measurements.
I sent the crusty original tank out to a buddy for cloning, he sent back an aluminum work of art, I installed it in the customers truck and tossed the original.

Re: Factory auxiliary fuel tank

There is also a lot of really good information on the RPO NL2 aux tank in the assembly manual.
