Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
Looks like your moving right along. I'm envious of the axle/steering/break swap. I wanna do mine but I cant bring myself to tear it down while it all still functions perfectly.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
Doug, I've had all drum trucks before. I much prefer disk. Since we were going to be doing a lot of work anyways, it only made sense.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
Thanks man, these are the 1st aftermarket wheels I've ever bought. I took a lot of time looking for what I liked.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
How are things? I am close myself to getting to start on the truck cab floor, etc and wanted to see how yours turned out since the suburban and panel are similar. I never done this before but the frame is looking like it is new and hope to get started on the body before it gets too cold as I am doin a backyard restoration. Jeremy, Winc va

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
Jeremy, haven't gotten a lot done the last couple months. I've had a lot of other stuff come up. Basic plan is to work on it as I can over the winter. I'm fortunate to have some shop space. Currently I've got a guy redoing all the electrical wiring. I bought a kit and he is doing it. The floors will happen sometime this winter.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
Not much progress in the last 6 weeks did get the Edelbrock manifold and 1406 carb on, HEI installed. I'm hoping the wiring is completed next week.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
It's been 1 thing after another. Finally got her home and on the road some. She's getting some floor panel patching done this week and new front axle seals. I do need to get a new front driveshaft made. Once the floors are in I can get the seats bolted in properly. Right now they are held in with 4 screws. Not the best...
Elec. rewire is done, carb has been dialed in. It was a bit of a pain with the elec choke and the wiring not a 100%. Brakes are all adjusted and bled. With the HEI she fires right up and purrs. Hopefully next week I'll be able to take her around to some body shops and see about getting her outside painted. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
More and more delays but progress is being made. All the metal that needed replacing is done. I had my buddy Rhino the ceiling and the floor in front, up to where the wood bed starts. Had steps installed, see pic.
Next week the Vintage Air gets installed. Then off to paint.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
Well weather took a hit on my timeline, I've had to postpone the VA install, probably till Spring. I don't want to drive this with salt on the roads. Although AAA might get a call.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
I rec'd the patch panel I needed for the lf side wheel today. Should get it installed this week. Then off to my buddy's shop for the Vintage Air install. After that should be ready to go off for paint.
I'll pick up my chromed 63 grill in April and rec'd the chromed front bumper yesterday. I'm not going to install them until later of course. Well duh April... For the grill. Mechanically I'm ready, it's running well. I've been driving it again this week. We had a tough winter, a lot of snow n ice which means killer salt... But we had 2 big rainstorms come thru. I can't wait for paint, hate the primer n yellow combo. It's just ugly.

Re: My 63 4x4 Burb
How do you like the interior Rhino lining? Ive heard pros/cons of it and just wondering what your take is on it.
Most of the cons are guys in hot climates complain of a chemical smell from the Rhino lining.
