250 engine ?

I need a motor for my 65 C-10 and a buddy on mine has a nice one out of a 67 Chevelle that does not blow smoke and runs real good.

Is there any differences between the two? I know that brackets and the exhaust may not line up. But is there a major difference or is this a major no-no.

Or should I just hold out for a 250 out of a truck?

Thanks,

Steve

Re: 250 engine ?

You will get some good advice, and in short order I suspect. I can't say for sure, but I can't imagine you would have any issues with this swap.

Re: 250 engine ?

Mounts should be similar as well as the exhaust. No major differences between the Car/Truck motors unless you get a later smogger head. Comparing the two you'll see the difference right away.

Re: 250 engine ?

Have a look at the oil pan sump. Some had the sump in the front on the cars. Truck is in the rear.

Re: 250 engine ?

It should fit perfect & work fine. Some later ones had a 3 bolt flange were the ex. pipe hooks to. If so you can put the 3 bolt flange on your pipe.
