Yeah she's a keeper for sure. She holds the starter up while I start the bolts LOL.

That really happened one time

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Yes it was. It was nice to be off of work too. Got to hang out with a buddy and look at a truck he was interested in.

Today I started at about 8am and stopped around 7pm. When I went down to work on the truck I had a plan of what I wanted to do. That quickly changed when I started looking at all that needed to be done. I guess my A.D.D. kicked in and I was doing something completely different than what I had planned. But, none the less a little progress was made. I cleaned out the doors inside, painted the bottoms inside so water will flow out the holes and not go into the seams, I patched a speaker hole in the drivers door, There's not one in the pass. door luckily. I knocked out some small dents with a dolly and hammers. I welded up the cb mic. screw holes on the dash, I cut the holes for the A/C vents on the sides, I ground down the welds on the hood, fenders, and doors that were mirror holes. Tomorrow is putty day. The back of the cab where its ground down looks worse than what it is. It is almost perfect. Its just going to be a thin skim coat when done. Heres some pics.

a/c vents finished, I also siliconed the adaptors onto the vents. They just fit too loose for my liking.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I also found my mirror backing plates inside the doors. I wire wheeled them and painted them with some extra flex plate paint I had left over. Nobody will see them.

I also got my new console plate in the mail today.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Well, She took it back to the store because it wasn't right she said. It was supposed to have banana pudding flavor ice cream on half and it wasn't. I didn't care but she said she paid extra for that. She's gonna get the replacement tomorrow. So no cake tonight. LOL

Cold Stone is the best place we have for ice cream mmmmmmmmm.
I have the same problem every time I go out to the garage with a plan I always get side track on something else.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

thanks. i did it on my defrost vents too. They send little metal clips to hold them on but to me they are still loose. I just siliconed them all up together.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I had some help today from Rus. I also received some battery cables from him for my birthday. Thanks again Rus. We got all the places needing filler covered. I'll let that cure good and work it next week or weekend. Rus sanded the dash down and got it ready to paint. I think it turned out great. Still a little tacky in the pic so the def. vents aren't pushed in all the way. A good day.
