windex

a person used windex to clean his chrome at a car show. anybody ever heard good or bad about it? thanks for the help, lets cruise!

I've seen it done before as well... I would be careful what you use it on, not that it will hurt anything but that I don't know what it could hurt.

I buy specific products for the various things that need cleaning (quick detailer for paint, window cleaner for the windows, metal polish for the wheels, etc.). I've used window cleaner to break through bugs and grime, but follow that up with certain products as listed previously.

I'll use it (or Invisible glass) to help get bugs off the bumper or a grill.
If I get the truck really bugged up I will spray down the bumper let it sit for a minute then wipe of the bugs, then I will go back over the bumper with a quick detailer.

I've never had any issues with it on chrome.

I've never used it on aluminum though.

Will not hurt chrome, does remove wax. I'd rather have the wax stay on and use a detail spray.
