Re: Halo headlight setups for c/10's

Be careful of ebay halos. I bought a set of 4 (5.75") for my GTO for $100 that fit the H4 HID's I have and found out that they are not DOT approved, which explains why the lighting sucked. I couldn't get the light beam off the road 3' in front of my car, or out of the trees above me. They wouldn't through the light down the road like they should. I wound up ditching them for a set of Pilot H4 headlights that are DOT approved. HUGE difference in night time visibility.

Be sure they are DOT approved if you want to them to work like they're supposed to. Or find someone who has a set and ask what brand, who they bought them from and if they're worth the purchase.

And if you find a set, please share! I'd LOVE to have them on my C-10.

Re: Halo headlight setups for c/10's

hmm now Im curious if mine are DOT how can you tell if they are or not? I love mine but they seem to have a similar issue then again im unsure if its just the lame adjustment on the c/10's themselves

You might try calling the guy you got them from at (818) 346-0083, I did some searching and found a set similar to yours after seeing the look on the truck and liking it but are stamped DOT and SAE approved with a lic # on the lens

Re: Halo headlight setups for c/10's

If you still have the packaging, check that. If you don't, there could be text on the lens, or a on the back of the light housing. If you don't see it in any location, then they aren't DOT or SAE approved. 99.9% of DOT approved lights have at least "DOT" on it and usually some numbers cast into the lens. Look at your tail lights, they are cast with DOT and typically the model year the lens first appeared on a vehicle (not necessarily in that order).
