Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
ask when you're there, I'm finding with a lot of these suppliers they miss small things like that, I can't wait to see this truck done, getting so bad I have buddies at work that are into 67-72's from my constant blabbing about mine and showing them yours, so badass, there should be a warning when you enter the site.......this site contains an addiction for which there is no cure, enter at your own risk....got it on my sled trailer lol

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Here is a picture of a 1968 non-tilt column at the area in question, apparently there are some differences between 1967-68 Columns because mine doesnt have those slots cut in it under the wiring loom shield like yours. I dont know if this is helpfull at all but I thought it couldnt hurt to have a good reference picture. |

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Hey Mike, have you figured out your column issue? I have a 67, and 68 non tilt columns, and they both have the same wire cover and two small tabs that it slides under. I couldnt find slots like yours anywhere on either column. Hope you already have it sorted out.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
A couple of questions that could clear up a few things for us. Is it a 1967 GM Truck Column, 36"L X 3/4" OD shaft? Is it a genuine GM column or a Reproduction? Is it tilt or non-tilt? A little more information would be helpfull. Im sure there are tons of experts on here that could help you with this, now if we could only get them to chime in. |

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
could it be that the slots are for tabs that are on the original cover itself?
it might be that the cover sticks in on one end and get screwed tight on the other end or that the tabs are hooked and on both sides and you need to push it in untill the tabs fall in the holes and the setup click shut , it would make more sense in a factory setup than using 4 clips to hold it down

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
and a few more, all the wire on the whole truck will be wrapped with PAINLESS CLASSIC Braid loom...this stuff is so cool has that cloth factory look but it is split like the plastic loom and wraps around the wires...it is too cool, here is a quick run of it that will be tucked behind my fender, i didnt spend a ton of time on it here since it will all be hidden. I used 6 way wiring plugs to make the front wiring able to disconnect if the front clip needs to come off. Also working on ac lines, in the process of blacking out the aluminum lines to make them disappear and on my third set of AC to compressor lines trying to achieve the look i want (i am still not thrilled ) I just got in my new bed reinforcement strips last week i will be running them in place of the standard cross braces (because they are shorter to go with the bolt on body drop) i ordered the ones without holes so we could tighten up the factory gaps in the wood...a little to wide in my opinion !

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
Your truck is amazing as you've been told a thousand times, been following it since i joined. A couple questions if you had a minute...Your fuel cell is set up for fuel injection right? I really like the price point compared to others (these builds add up quick). Second, it seems you completely scraped the old wiring and your rewiring all new? Just wanted to know if i cant throw away all my old wiring.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
The cell does have a return line and yes i am running an outside fuel pump...i hope it works well we will see ! And yes i went to it because of price also , i hope that doesnt bite me later..LOL ! As for the wiring, it just depends on what all you will be running on your truck i have so many different things to power up that i needed to go to the 18 circuit wiring harness ...and of course the fact that PAINLESS sponsored my truck sure helped ALOT !!! I would deffinately recommend their product, very straight forward install !....quite PAINLESS...LOL

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
When you say bite you (fuel cell) should i wait to order it? Now you have me worried...Im sure i will need a PAINLESS as well with air management and such...speaking of which i guess im going to have to bite the bullet and call Nate..time to order more stuffhttp://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/images/smilies/crazy.gif

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread (CLOUD 9)
well if you are going fuel injection i would think the ideal thing would be a tank with the fuel pump in it , this keeps the pump cool ! Plenty of people have done it with an outside pump like i am doing so it will probably be fine i would just prefer to go the other way...but price wise this was far cheaper ! i hope it works i will know soon ! anyone else have any input on this ?
