1963 c10 starting issue

hi,when attempting to start my truck i get nothing !! no dash activity.....nothing !!! unless i run a jump wire from the battery over to the horn relay, obviously this is not normal, have not found a wiring diagram yet for dummy light dash,i got a alternator wire harness from lmc but the colors dont match what i find in books, soooooo what wire go where on starter, coil, horn relay etc and what color are they supposed to be ???? did these old harnesses have fusable links or something like that ??? my harness seems to be intact and no eveidence of hacking /damage so why does nothing happen when you turn the key ????hhmmmmmmmmmmm

No fusable links that im aware of.

I believe there is a voltage regulator near the horn relay. Check to make sure you have 12v at the ignition switch. See if you have power at the coil.

I dont have the link to the wire diagram, but im sure someone will post it for you.

Nuts I had this very same problem and my voltage regulator was bad. Bought a new one at Autzone cheap Duralast for now. Everything works now. I used the same diagram as above to trace down where the voltage stopped.
