18" and 20" steel wheels?
Anyone ever heard of these guys?
I can't seem to find out much, other than the HubGarage page,... and I don't know how old that is. They do come in out truck 5x5 pattern.

Re: 18" and 20" steel wheels?
I have seen them advertised before. I also think I have seen a few 67-72's sporting them in a few pics if I remember correctly. Looks pretty good. Like to see a few members with these post some pics if anyone has them.

Most of the board members that have a similar designed wheel, use an aluminum Centerline Smoothie wheel with a painted center. I would think these steel wheels would be very heavy.

Re: 18" and 20" steel wheels?
Yeah, I have seen those too. I wasn't referring to just on this board. I seen a truck with these listed on CL. I agree though, they probably do weigh quite a bit.

Re: 18" and 20" steel wheels?
I was thinking about doing something like this. This one is a 20 inch dodge ram steel wheel. Of corse one would have to re-drill to our 5x5 pattern or run adapters.

Re: 18" and 20" steel wheels?
Just got off the phone with Adam at Mobsteel. They arre currently offering them in 20x9 and will soon be making them in 8s and 10s. He said they can accomodate any backspacing and they are tooled to make the as wide as 14" in up to 22" diameter in the future. They have passed SAE wheel testing standards and weigh 46lbs for a 20x9 wheel, 50lbs packaged shipping weight. They are currently selling direct only but will be looking at distributors soon so with distributors price goes up.
I mentioned our truck market and this forum and some of our wacky desire for 20 steelies. I will be sending him a link to this thread and suggested he become a vendor and answer some questions on here. Adam is a real nice guy and very helpfull answering all of my questions. You can email him at adam@mobsteel.

Re: 18" and 20" steel wheels?
I sent these guys an email this morning about these and I got a really quick reply today.
Here is what they sent me: We can do custom backspace, and it accepts standard 7.5 snap in style center caps. you can do baby moon, bullets, spiders, rallies, whatever. we do have those available also. In stock right now: 20x9 and 20x8 are $220 each raw and plus $25 per wheel powder coated your color choice. We can get them chrome plated if you like its $100 per wheel We will be running more sizes in the future, we have tooled up for 18 and half of the tooling id done for 22". We are working on trim rings, artillery style wheels etc.. all of this is in our master plan but i have no dates yet or have not had any of these to testing yet. Most likely we will be moving the stock we have in the 20" for some time. Thanks again, I will have a flyer done soon and up for you to check out Adam 810-333-6100 |
