I was thinking asking $850? Is that crazy?

I would say $500-$750 to the right buyer.

Re: Dealer take off tailgate

I bought a similar one this spring and had to pay 500. I felt that was lots! The same guy had a one with all the tailgate trim including the woodgrain Chevrolet and he wanted 650 for that one and not sure if he sold that one or not. just my 2 cents.

I purchased it from a guy at the Portland swap meet and I have seen him there for years but I could not tell you what the guys name is. He always has 67-72 chev truck stuff and always in the same spot so I'm sure someone on here knows him and maybe someone will chime in. It was crazy nice condition though. I believe he may even be from the Portland area because he usually has a few trucks that he brings every year. Maybe try checking on Portland craigslist because he parts these trucks all the time.

What color was the purchased gate, was the seller in a big top commercial event tent with ten stalls of 67-72 related stuff? If so, it could have been me as we have been in the same annual Portland Swap Meet stalls since 95. Mel
