On trucks, it was January 1 1976, so some '76's have them and some dont, but all from '77 and up.

That is the one. The PO of my truck removed the tank, but left the rest. Those tanks are almost impossible to find. At least around my state.

Re: rarest options?

The 8 track was an accessory not an option at least not as a RPO. Drip rail molding is a rare option, offered in 69 discontinued in 70.

Yep. I have a '69 CST 396 truck that has the drip rail trim. They were retained by the rosette rivets used on VIN tags.

As stated earlier, all 8 tracks were accessories, not factory installed options.

Cool Re: rarest options?

I dont think its an option but the trucks up noth of the border could get painted at least in pink lime green and purple and some rare or hard to find options are bedside mounted toolbox am/fm radio an o/d for the 3 spd and supposedly i remeber seeing a 1 ton truck on this site with a twin stick tranny and it wasnt a 4x4

Yes its very rare but unfortunately not very desirable...
I've had two trucks that only came close to that. And,other unusual combos:

'72 SWB Highlander 402/3spd posi w/solid Ochre paint...not a Stepside or Cheyenne Super

'68 SWB CST 396/3spd posi tach buckets manual steering & brakes...one of two identical Red w/White top ordered by two brothers

'69 K/10 CST Custom Camper I already mentioned. Never seen another and it was highly optioned.

'71 SWB K/10 Custom 292/4spd p/s fr & rr posi 16" wheels wood floor tach fr & rr tow hooks manual throttle am/fm shoulder belts...base model with select options

'72 K/20 Highlander Custom Camper 4spd...loaded with options & accys

Re: rarest options?

Hmmm ^^^
'67 Super Customs weren't exactly rare. That fender badge isn't an option. It's the emblem that came on '67 GMC Super Customs, the Chevy CST equivalent. If this thread was about rare or hard to find parts, that badge would be on the list. It's not available as a reproduced part.
