230 vs 250 install?
Would there be any differences between a 230 as opposed to a 250 as far as swapping one for my 216?

Re: 230 vs 250 install?
Other than the 250 having slightly more power none that I can think of. The later 250's had an integrated head with the intake manifold cast into the head that a lot of guys don't like very well but that is the only outside difference I know of.

you do realize the 230/250 is completely different engine requiring different bellhousing and engine mounts.

Re: 230 vs 250 install?
I have a 230 with 60,000 miles out of a 66 nova with a 3 speed that I can use in my 53 if I want.
I was wondering if the 230 and 250 were essentially the same because it seems like there is alot more reference material ( research ) & posts refering to the 250 and not so many for the 230. Would a 3.08 rear gear be decent choice with that motor and trans for just a cruiser ( no drag racing with this one ) . I also have a rear end out of a 67 camaro I can use. I think that is the ratio...or at least close... after just counting the rotations of the drive shaft method! Thanks!
