Hope everyone out east is doing ok.

Good luck to all those having to weather Sandy. Our thoughts are with you.

No power = no internet and limited phone service so probably won't hear the hoar stories for a couple of days. I hope they had the means to get their rigs to high ground, salt water is ugly. All the unemployed construction workers in the west and mid west are packing their trucks to head east...

Made it through the storm, lost electricity for a bit. I don't think we got it as bad here in So.Md. as they did a little further north and east of us. Prayers go out to the ones hit the hardest.

Re: Hope everyone out east is doing ok.

Just heavy rain and winds here (southeast Virginia) on Monday. I work outside (UPS Driver) so the rain was no fun at all. The coastal folks dealt with flooding and damaged roadways. Nothing at all like the folks up the coast are dealing with. Prayers for all of them!

Re: Hope everyone out east is doing ok.

We're lucky. It's not too bad here in NH. Rains and thunderstorms moved up from MA last night and probably did more water damage than Sandy. Trees are down in some areas and they're reporting 100k people without power. Hopefully that number will drop quickly as most of the problems are from downed lines rather than poles and large hardware failure. Biggest issue now for electrical is most line crews are in NY / NJ area (as they should be).

Re: Hope everyone out east is doing ok.

Extremely lucky here in western CT. No damage and never lost power at our house, but around the corner the generators are working overtime. The CT coast (about 45 minutes from us) got it bad. Horrible tragedy in nearby North Salem, NY... Two young boys (11 and 13) died when a tree fell on their house... Another nearby family had just made it into their basement when a tree fell taking half their house down. All are okay. So many stories. Our hearts go out to all whose lives have been changed so drastically by this storm...

Re: Hope everyone out east is doing ok.

Thanks for asking, things were pretty bad here in westchester county NY. We had 80 MPG gusts and 12 hours of high sustained winds. All kinds of devestation in my area and hundreds of thousands without power (including myself, but got a nice generator today). Runnning lines to the neighbors houses to keep their fridges going. Funny last week I was all wrapped up in my 58 trying to get it to run right, now its a distant memory and very low on my priority list.

John i see you are right in Danbury. I work right in Ridgefield CT and live in Yorktown NY.

Stay safe all,
Mark
