S10 swap question, rear shock mounts.

Got a question on my rear shock mounts. I'm using a SWB s10 frame for my swap and just finshed up moving my rear axle back 8". My question is what did ya'll do for your rear shock mounts. I threw my shocks on just to see how they would sit and they are at about a 5 degree angle towards the back of the truck. I have to build a new cross memeber in the rear anyways and thought about making new mounts but could I just use these stock mounts and not have to move them? My concern is how rough the ride would be with the shocks being so straight up and down. I also plan to haul things and pull my 15ft flat bottom around. If you have pics of your setup or any advice, please feel free to share them. Thanks!

Here's how my shocks sit with the stock upper mount and the rear axle moved 8" back.

Re: S10 swap question, rear shock mounts.

Grind/punch out the rivets and then slide the mount back toll they touch that other rear crossmember.. drill new holes and bolt them on.

Or maybe easier.. just weld some tabs on the front of that crossmember and loose the stock upper mounts all together.

That second option is kind of what I'm thinking. I plan to box the rear of the frame so I may do exactly that. Is there a specific angle these shocks need to be for the best ride quality?
