windshield wipers

Hello all,
I need to replace the windshield wiper hose on my wipers. How do you take the wiper arms off of an 86 K10? Thanks for your help. I have looked at these and just can't figure this out

Re: windshield wipers

They should just slide off. One end should have a hook and pull away from the hook might be a clip you press in while pulling.

I will look again. I didn't see anything like that. I have taken others off of other cars that have what you are talking about. Thanks for your help

Re: windshield wipers

Are you talking about the wiper blades or the wiper arms? Wiper blades should come off with pinching the clips together. The wiper arms should be removed with a removal tool - from the auto parts store. My 83 is that way, so I think the 86 should be the same.

Mine is an 81 and I can't get the whole apparatus (arm, blade, etc.) off the truck.

What tool is used?

Thank you.

At Autozone or anywhere online.

I must admit, I have one but never used it yet. I used a flat blade screwdriver in the past but chipped up the paint on the cowl. You need to depress the tab on the bottom of the arm to release the grip on the gear on the drive.

Check youtube for a how to video or just google it.

Re: windshield wipers

That is the tool the glass guy used. The wipers came right off with no effort.

Re: windshield wipers

The wiper arm has a small tab at the bottom end (where the arm connects to the rotating shaft). The tab has to be pulled outwards slightly to pull the hook out from under the wiper shaft splined part. Once the clip is pulled, then pull upwards on the wiper arm and it should slide off.
