Re: What type of person does this?
Sorry it happened, ol-skool. Know it angered you, and driver had no excuse. Happened once to me, in a small town where I lived and while I was parallel-parked & in the barber shop. What happened next that made me angrier. The owner of a store directly across from barber shop, whom I knew, & who saw it & apparently also knew the driver, refused to testify to police saying he did not "want to get involved". Luckily a stranger to me had recorded the lic. plate # and gave it to police. Perpetrator happily paid for damages once confronted, claiming she did not realize she had hit me; said the high sides on hubby's pickup hid my car from her view.
Today, 37 years down the road, I still am more perturbed with store-owner than with the lady who hit my ride. |

Re: What type of person does this?
about four years ago someone in what I'm guessing was a flat bed truck or some sort of service truck backed the corner of their truck into the passenger side of my hood. They didn't stop when they first made contact, so it made a straight line gash in my hood that ran the entire length from the tip of the hood through the cowl, and stopped midway through the passenger door. My truck was painted all white at the time, and the paint job was a good professional one.
What did the guy do? Instead of leaving his insurance info, he grabbed a bucket of white house paint and a brush out of his truck and brushed a sloppy line of house paint all the way down the gash, and then left. I didn't walk around the truck until I got home, but I was floored when I saw it. Never in my life have I known someone that would do such a thing. I just don't have any concept of it. I couldn't even bring myself to be mad about it; it ruined the look of my truck, and still to this day I haven't had money to fix that, but it just stands as a reminder that there are rotten people in this world. Nothing you can do about it but be thankful that the people you've let into your own life aren't.

What type of person?....
Sheesh! People hit people and drive away. We can't comprehend it; and that's good we can't.

Re: What type of person does this?
i would never get mad over a accident. I know it happens. If they just had left a note I wold have said Not a problem, we work it out and fit it...BUT No note...?? That really got me heated
Not leaving a note just says F--- You I dont know if i can find a good fender..and the repro dont fit.. maybe just beat it out

Re: What type of person does this?
What kind of person? More than I care to think. With the rising cost of living and how insurance co. can drop you at a moments notice this happens a lot more Than I care to think.
The days of leaving a note with contact info are all but gone. I'm sure there's still some legit folks out there but I imagine few and far between. Us being car/truck people it would go without saying that we would pay up. But those that have teenagers and are already getting gouged on insurance may just drive away and and play innocent if caught... Years ago My girlfriend (now wife) were out in her 81 toyota truck when we were sideswiped by a guy delivering pizza. The guy hit up and took off. When we stopped him his only response was I have to get this pizza to the customer or I'm gonna get fired. He got ticketed and his insurance paid up. |

Re: What type of person does this?
What type? The WEAK type. Weak in moral character. I know some people like that and it doesn't bother them. Makes me furious how some can be so flaky, yet sleep at night.

Re: What type of person does this?
The first time you used your hands to do something like to shovel dirt, you developed a blister. But eventually, your hands become callous. It doesn't bother you anymore.

Re: What type of person does this?
The same a hole that bounced off my son's trucks tricked out s10 at the emergency room while my wife was being admitted to the hospital tonight. The driver did leave a large dent and a broken tail light. How thoughtful. That driver was very busy lately bouncing off trucks. No respect to them it's just a truck.
