Is there a trick to making the seat belts retract better?
The driver's side belt will retract with a quick snap of the belt but the passengers side will not. Is this a common issue? Is there some sort of easy fix for this issue?
Thanks. |

Those stupid seat belts are NOT cheap either. LMC seems to want nearly $100 for just one. At least I think it is the price for just one. The LMc website is not very specific, but the word "set" is not used.

Good luck getting the mounting bolt out without twisting it off!! I have busted knuckles on a few occasions replacing belts, then you gotta drill it out.But hey,if everything went easy, you would have nothing to crab about eh!!!!

Re: Is there a trick to making the seat belts retract better?
I had a problem since 1985 on my GMC with this issue. Finally (after 27 years) I replaced them with a set of non-retractable belts. They're sometimes a PITA to adjust, plus they just hang when released but at least I know they will stay intact in the event of an accident. Just don't trust the retractables anymore.

Re: Is there a trick to making the seat belts retract better?
Mine are weak as well but I trust them. Anytime I go over a bump fast and my truck jerks in the air they lock. If I have to panic brake they lock. I trust them period. The internal springs are weak for sure for the retract but I'm thinking of taking them apart and putting springs from a new belt into the old

Mine seem to tighten across my abdomen as I drive along. If you didnt want a pee at the start of the journey, youre desperate by the end......
