converting a 2wd to a 4wd

I was wondering if anyone has done or would know how to do this, my dad got a 1967 2wd chevy truck several years ago and slowly converted the truck to 1967 4wd chevy, how would you register/insure the truck, we only have a title for the 1967 chevy 2wd

I don't know about WV but you shouldn't have to do anything for the title. As for the insurance the best thing to do is once you get the truck done have it appraised by an insurance company that covers old cars and trucks.

The VIN number did not change correct? You should be good to go as is. However your insurance company will want to know its a 4x4 so they can charge you more.

This is a C10 with 3/4 ton 4x4 running gear it is registered as a housecar due to the bed cover It is insured thru my insurance company with a declared value. The only bad part is I can only drive 6000 miles per year

Re: converting a 2wd to a 4wd

This truck has a C10 cab and the v.i.n. reflects that. I have it insured through State Farm for an agreed value of 16,000. as far as theyre concerned it is a 4wd.

Re: converting a 2wd to a 4wd

so as long as the insurance company knows that the truck is a 4wd instead of a 2wd everything will be fine
