Re: Radiator for big block 62 truck?
well i know in 1965 you could get the 396 with the 3 core for the 283 .I know the alum ones are nice but you must run distill water min them and use antifreeze and change it every year or electrolysis will eat your radiator up in No time.Brass and copper radiators seem to last longer and can take more abuse.Do you have a radiator shop any where around you that fixes radiators.Even a Big Rig Semi shop might work out.I know the 3 core that is found for the 327 and 283 will keep everything cool.I would run a sepret cooler for the automatic and no run it throw the radiator.what is the compression you are running in the engine makes a big difference on how hot your engine is going to run are you going to run the heater core as well as part of your cooling,Remember when your father said if your over heating on a hot summer day turn on the heater.you fry or the truck fry's

Re: Radiator for big block 62 truck?
I have a Champion Radiator from Reliable Radiator near you. The one I have is a 2 core with 1" tubes, supposed to cool up to 750HP, which I dont have, it cools my LS just fine.

Re: Radiator for big block 62 truck?
I ordered a 3/4-ton, 4-row radiator from US Radiator (I think).
It's a little wider, and a little taller than the standard 1/2-ton radiator, but bolts right to the core support mounting holes. The difference is made up in the width of the flanges on the radiator. This is also a factory auto-trans style radiator. It keeps my small block cool in Atlanta, and I don't have the shroud in yet. -Brad

One of the ebay sellers offers an aluminum radiator for the '60-'62's. Check out GMRPerformance's build thread.
With just a little fabrication, you could use a '63-'66 radiator, or most any aftermarket universal radiator such as the ones from Summit
