Any of you guys running a rearsway bar?

Here is a old thread that I did my install a few years ago. I have since taken the bar off only because when I installed the shock relocator kit it was in the way.

How would I add a sway bar to my rectangular trailing arms from ece? Is it possible?

If I spent the money on those arms I would do the Camaro bar and not have to drill are weld on those arms.
The camaro bar connects to the rear axle and frame nothing would touch the arms.

I did they same as 69CLASSIC, mine is off of a 87 IROC

On my Longhorn, I have leaf springs with overloads. I'm going to haul a 10' slide in camper. It also has air shocks on the rear. Would a sway bar improve the handling with the camper on?

Yes it would.

I used the same bar as above for leaf spring rear from addco. The truck is used for my roofing business. Its like driving a lowered truck now handles great thru the corners loaded or empty

Thanks. I have a front stabilizer, and kinda thought one on the back wouldn't hurt. I've hauled a lot of tractors on trucks, but never a camper in a pickup. Wasn't sure how much sway there would be.

Looks like you had to trim some mounts to get that bar installed. Why not mount it to the bottom of the frame rails?

Nope.. nothing is or was trimmed... drilled the holes for the 2 mounts was all. Its mounted per instructions and the way its designed to be mounted. If it was mounted under the frame rails it would interfere with exhaust pipes and would have have the right angle anyway.

Good point re: exhaust, I think that the exhaust should be routable above the bar in between the frame rails though, and flipping the bar would probably correct the angle enough... and if not the links could be resized to do so. I'm going to have to take some measurements but maybe I can find a bar that would be suitable for bottom mount...

it's all about mounting to the axle itself
if that means mounting towards the rear, between frame rails, or above rails..... it's all good as long as part of it is attached to the axle.

Mine however, is attached to the trailing arms. I'll probably change that when it comes up on the "to-do" list.

Ok, but keep in mind that No Limit has a road course truck they have build using this bar. They tried several ways of doing it and this setup works the best...

I have the ECE front sway bar installed (awesome). I have the CPP rear sway bar but have not installed it yet. Will report any differences in the driving experience.

Is that hellboy? If so they use a splined torsion bar, not the rear bar that they sell. Maybe that should tell us something...

I have a Camaro Hotchkis bar mounted to the trailing arms. Seems to work very nice for me. I think mounting it to the arms keep sit from being too much.

Well then.. I stand to be corrected... I thought I read somewhere they used it.. maybe it was on another truck. But I guess since you're so hell bent on being against it and the way its mounted, you'll come up with something that works for you...
