You are correct - that sends up a red flag. If the top has never been off, how did it get painted on the inside - unless it is just a reflection of the body color? Nice looking truck. Different carb on it appears and air cleaner unless 69 had an oil bath option. If it is what the seller says it is, it could be a real deal. Someone should go look at it and report back (or buy it).

Re: Check this out on Houston CR

The top being color matched is correct for 1969 only. I have brochures with interior pics that show this. I'm curious about the air cleaner also, Probably oil bath, but looks to be 50's era?

Re: Check this out on Houston CR

Well guys I bought the truck. The only thing that I have found so far is the lower kick panels are rusted through. Scares the crap out of me whenever I do something like this. I looked at it the best I could. I am not sure that it is a 12k mile truck but it's a nice truck for sure all original. It was a Colorado mountain (criag) truck then it lived south of fort worth for five years undriven. Then it was purchase and brought here since last October. Then I purchased it today and I am still looking at it. So far all is good except the lower kick panels. Heres some pictures. Wish me luck!

Sweetness! That's a rare find for sure! Can't believe "per the ad" that the top has never been off....that's a sin!

Re: Check this out on Houston CR

Interesting. I seriously considered buying this last fall when a guy was selling it (Brian, I think) in the Fort Worth area. Did you buy it from him, or was there another owner in between? My main concern was being able to validate the mileage, but looked like a nice Blazer regardless. The story was that this guy had bought it from the widow of the original owner. Can't see the CL ad this time, it is now deleted.

There was another owner that bought it from him and brought it down to Houston. Your story sounds about right. I am having a hard time with the 12k miles. There are some parts around the truck that look like a 44 year old truck with 12 k. Then there are other parts that look like 112000 miles. I think the truck spent most of its time under cover however the very bottom of the kick panels are rusted through. For example of a 12k truck the upper door panels on the inside the paint is not worn through where you stick your elbow out, the paint is in like new conditon and is original. The front differential has a factory parts sticker still on it. Factory chalk writings I can find on the frame and the core support. But mud and grease are caked up around the trans and transfer case....only thing I can think of is it came from the farm that the original owner had. Its true the top has never been off the interior is all there and original and the bracket to the seats are still gloss black. There are a couple of things I am puzzled about such as the SPID list a push button radio but there is no radio or evidence one was ever installed. There is a blanking plated there with a sticker on it from craig colorado. There is no speaker grill in the dash unless in 1969 they didn't put a speaker grill there. It has the original protecto plate and owners manual and I have the colorado lic plates that came with it. Still trying to get an accurate decode on the serial number. The numbers match frame, body, engine, SPID, and protecto plate. Anyways I really like the truck and it has found a home for many years to come. Alex

Blazers don't get speaker grills in the dash. speakers were mounted below the dash. done this way rain didn't drip down into the electronics.

I am not fully convinced, but I have to admit I have never had a 69. I Wonder how many 69's with original tops on them belonging to Board members are color matched? This truck's top is matched for sure. This brochure doesn't show it though:

In any event, Asolde has a real nice Blazer.

Re: Check this out on Houston CR

I have about 50 pics from when it was for sale last fall. I had the owner take a ton of pics since I was 'thisclose' to buying it. Someone had put an aftermarket radio in it, which was in the pics. I am happy to zip up the pics and send your way, might help document where/what condition the truck was last fall.

I am just glad that someone else on here bought it - it would have gnawed at me forever if it was still for sale, or if I didn't know where it went...

My 72 CST has a speaker grill. Maybe it was only some years or models.

Love it that the seats are still there.
Document the heck out those...

Only place that I know that may be able to help, is SMSfabrics.com to get the materials with the embossed pattern.

There is a member of this board that may be able to help you on getting them stitched up, and then send them to you to have a shop install them or you do it yourself. I think he goes by "Truckseats"
