He could've just said no trades I guess. Everyone seems to think their junk is worth twice what's yours is, so he's heading that off at this pass. I saw an ad recently where the guy said he would take a trade but be aware he would come out on the better end of the deal.

It's a lot easier to trade on newer cars because an unbiased resource such as KBB can be used to determine a trade difference.
