door, cab and bed differences?
Whats the cutoff year for subtle changes in the body parts? Im hearing in some places that 81-87 cab, front fenders, and doors are different from 73-80? Is that true or are the years different?

Re: door, cab and bed differences?
81-87 fenders, hood & rad support are different. cabs are the same except 81-87 has hinge pockets on the firewall. doors shells are the same all years, but inner panels & door hardware are different on 81-87. blazers, 3/4 subs & 1 tons kept square body style to '91, 1/2's & 3/4's went to ifs & different body style (88-98)

73-76 doors are different inside and don't accept power parts.

Re: door, cab and bed differences?
And there's more cab differences than just the hinge pockets in the firewall. Ex, later trucks used hydraulic clutches versus mechanical linkage. Also the brackets under the dash for the ESC or EFI computer.
Doors are definitely different too. The 73-76 inside of the door is completely different with a character line that is absent on later doors. |
