Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

I got some parts in from a board member. A pair of seat belts, a pair of visors, and a pair of arm rests. I cleaned up the visors and installed them. I put the passenger seat belt on after rewinding it. It replaced the parchment one. I know its backwards but I put the passenger arm rest on the drivers side. I had to trim it down a little in the front to fit. But at least its not all chewed up anymore. I'll clean the seat belts up and install them later. I think I'm going to take the seat out and fix the holes in the floor and install my new rubber mat in this truck instead of Choncho. I'll put the belts in then.

Which rubber mat do you have? I love the one I have, it would be perfect for a big tough truck like Tonto.

Man, you're making me want to slow up on scrounging hard parts and start piecing together an interior! This truck is gonna be new!

Hey, you outta put that pic of your GMC you have in the 'who's on steelies?' thread in your avatar---the one that shows those NOS caps, and the 6"/8" wheels! That's a dead-on profile!

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

LOL new? Nah. Just trying to make it kinda look better.
The wife and I took the truck across town to eat and to wallyworld. I can smell the oil leaking from the valve covers when we stop. So I may need to do some gasket changes. My wipers also squeak pretty loud. Funny how you find things when having a good time.

Its usually fun to laugh about, too. Date night in the old truck is always a blast!

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

I like the one in the garage because it shows a little depth of the rears. But the little avatar pic may not be big enough to highlight the cool wheel detail.

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

I've been driving tonto to work and have noticed that I have a brake issue. The pedal is hard sometimes and the truck is hard to stop sometimes. Might need a master cylinder or the vacuum on the motor is weak. Have to look into it.

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

Is it erratic, or is it mostly when you've been in traffic?

Its mostly after start up. Then it gets better. Thats why I thought it might be a vac. problem. Might have a weak cam..? or worn lobes..

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

That truck has a canister doesn't it? Could it have a crack somewhere, and be leaking down?

Re: Chucks 72 Cheyenne Custom Camper

Doesn't have a canister.

I got my tranny cooling lines today.
The truck was hot so I couldn't put them on.
I opened the floor mat. Its the original type. I put my license plates that Matt and Rus gave me up over the other door. Took some random pics.

I really like that floor mat, will it go all the way to the back of the cab? Where did you buy it?

It has the tails on each side. Nothing under the seat. Southern Kentucky Classics.
