Re: radiator question/recommendations

Engine and a list of any relevant engine mods might help. If you lived closer, I have a nice 2-core I'd give you.

Re: radiator question/recommendations

About all you can get now is aluminum core / plastic tanks. They are fine, cool good and cheap. You just need a 2 core for a 305. Measure your old one and get one of those.

Re: radiator question/recommendations

Would like to be $200 or lower

I was going to have my favorite local shop do it but they quoted $520 including a $290 radiator.

I'm fairly handy and have done everything else on my truck but didn't know if this is beyond me. But they did say if I bring the radiator in they would install it

Re: radiator question/recommendations

What's wrong with the old one? You mentioned "favorite local shop", by chance is it a local radiator shop? Can the old one be rebuilt/repaired?

Personally I like copper/brass, in this case, I may even hit up a junkyard for one. (I see the price difference)
Radiator is one of those things I'd try to get locally, that way if you have a problem, you don't have nearly the amount of downtime.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

Radiators are extremely easy to install. Just do it yourself and save some money.

I will install it for 230 bucks also.

You can do it, no problem.

Re: radiator question/recommendations

Try eBay... Champion Radiator. They're 2, 3 and 4 row radiators, fits like a glove. Ive been running one for about two years now with no problems. My original brass/copper started leaking one day.... took that to the recycler.
