Inline 6 carbueration question

So in my travels this last weekend i picked up a B Rochester 1 bbl of a 250 with all the correct linkage and peripherals. I'm wondering how much it will affect performance on a 292 as it has a smaller bore. I'm not to worried about power on this truck but still want it to be decent..

Main reason I want to use that carb is cause then can hook up the stock choke cable, throttle linkage and what not an make it looks pretty much factory. THe current linkage is a setup pieced together and it looks a little janky.

Whats on my truck now.

what i want to put on

I don't know how much it will affect performance but I would suggest you get the air filter assembly from the donor.

I'm not familiar with the height of the 292 but I agree that if the breather will work, see retrieve it also. I can sure use one like that on my GMC with 250. The one I had would not work with the brake booster.

Re: Inline 6 carbueration question

Well I got a couple different air cleaner options. I got the paper element type that sits o top of the carb and I also have an offset oil bath cleaner that also came off a 67 250 truck.

My 68 GMC used to have the oil bath option on it but couldn't use it because of adding power brakes. The booster interfered with it. Wound up getting rid of it. I now have the small filter chrome one I bought locally but I would like to find one of those offset ones to put on it. If for no other reason than make it look more period correct.

He has lots of good info and parts. Good luck. I just rebuilt 3 of these for my 3 pac I'm working on. Very simple to do.
