Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I've heard mixed reviews on the one that Brother's sells, but I like the idea, especially on an a/c truck.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I've read through the instructions and you have to modify your latch spring and part of the top hinge so it doesn't have that filler panel that some kits have. I like that part of it.

I read some bad things in threads but I can't remember which kit they had used

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

The only one I've heard bad about is the Brother's one, and from my experience, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. If the people who sell this kit are helpful, it seems worth a shot. I see what you mean about the filler panel, I like it too.

I like that kit! It seems to have a better design but it looks like you pay a little more for it!

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Its started. I'd call this slight mod Saturday. It started with my buddy Jeff stopping by to borrow my hoist. He helped me take my hood off so I could get ready for my porter built hinges. (Thanks Jeff!)I took the hinges off and thought the space where they were was just ugly and needed smoothing. While doing that I should smooth the whole side of the fender. So my junction and ground on the passenger side will be moved and the drivers side only needed minor adjustments on the wiring that I'll do later. I put bolts in the rear of the holes and welded them up. I cut out the indention for the junction block and made a patch for it. And welded up a lot of holes. I still have to do the holes that had the indention behind the hinges. These pictures may be out of sequence but we'll see.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Like I said I still have to weld up the holes. I found two plugs for the passenger side. I'll have to get two more for the drivers side. Maybe I'll get finished tomorrow with the welding on the passenger side.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Thanks guys. I'm not done yet. I think I'm gonna fill the two little dimples along the bottom of the inner where the inner fender attaches. I just noticed them after I sanded it.
