Chevy Van spindles G10/G20 for disk conversion?
Hello All
A friend of mine stopped by the junk yard the other day and got to talking to one the guys there. They checked the compatibility books and came across the possibility that a chevy van spindle would work on our trucks for a possible disc brake conversion. Anyone know if this is possible? has anyone done it and know what exactly needs to be used for the conversion (tie rod ends, ball joints)? G10's used a 5x4 3/4 while g20's used both 6, and 5x5.5, and even a 5x5 according to wikipedia. Thoughts? |

Here is a thread I found the other day while looking for the same thing.

Thanks for that. So it appears that we can use them as long as we also use the equivalent sized tierod ends. I only ask, as the local wreckers will sell spindles, rotors and calipers for $50 versus the much more expensive c10 parts.

Showing 71 G30 knuckles to be the same service part number as 71-72 C20-30 knuckles.

Re: Chevy Van spindles G10/G20 for disk conversion?
I just found a 1984 G30 van for cheap. Is the front suspension (And maybe the rear too) compatible with my 1970 C20?
Thanks, Troy |
