Re: questions about lifting my truck
I put skyjacker softride on the front of my K20 with blocks in the back. I hate the softirde, I debated it and should have gone with my gut instinct. It rides like a pig 1970 Cadillac Coupe de Ville with worn out suspension and not a K20. I will be getting rid of it and finding some good stiff springs that can take a bump and a corner.
Just so you know. I owned this truck back in 85-90 then bought it back from my friend(who gave it a pretty good working over, he's a mason). That said, I had a Heavy duty 4" lift on it back then, don't remember the make, But the truck drove like a champ back then. Now everything is worn and it's a bit squirly and the softride make it worse. I wish the lift I put on was still on. But buddy sold the truck to an Avacado farmer friend then bought it back about 4 years ago and it just sat. The old Avacado farmer took the lift off. Back to the point I was about to make. I know how the truck drove back when I originally owned it, with and without the 4" lift. So anyone that tells me, "that's how those old things dirve" I know it's BS and I'm shooting for the standards I know are obtainable. So bye bye skyjacke softride! |

Re: questions about lifting my truck
if it's a c10 it can't be lifted it'll have to be a k10 for it to be lifted, the c10 is a spindles in front hince the reason most of our trucks are dropped, the k10 has its own axle in fron and back so that's why a c10 can't be lifted.

How so? Because I was told I couldn't do it.

Re: questions about lifting my truck
Spindles and springs, my buddy had one with spindles and springs and it had like 8 inches of lift on it, there is a thread on here about a lifted suburban that had like 12 inches on it!

Re: questions about lifting my truck
Its the same as lowering only in reverse lol. Yeah thats the simple answer but the correct one. IIRC I was a kid but most of the lifted trucks back in the 80's were 2wd so makes me think back in the day there was a kit made for lifting these 2wd trucks at one time. I know for sure you can get a 4 inch body lift still and those dont matter 2wd or 4wd run about 140 bucks.

Re: questions about lifting my truck
It sure is nice to have a computer again using my phone sucked. here ya go the thread from 09. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=369803.
according to the thread guys truck had balljoint spacer and blocks on the rear for 3 inches or so of lift. If you were to add a body lift you could get around 8. This would give you enough clearance to run some large tires so overall height would depend on the tire size you end up with. You could have a real massive rig in the end.
