mystery hose
This is the hose that is causing me leaking oil from the top of the manifold. What the heck is it? Anyone else have one?

Someone has tapped into your oil galley there. Usually there is just a square headed plug there. Some later blocks don't even have a tapped hole there at all.
Non-stock! Make it go away!

I could be a return line from a past by-pass filter.

so....
Can I simply remove both ends of it (see mystery hose 2 thread for second picture) and plug the holes with appropriate bolts? The smog pump was pulled from this truck and the A/C did not work, so who knows why it may be there...but I don't see it on anyone else's trucks.
Yikes, how bad is this? Someone explain to me further why it may be there...what was the benefit? |
