Sweet getting work done. I'm not sure if we've ever talked about what you plan to do with your 305 but check out the link I attached pretty sweet info!

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Im sure they sell sheet metal for it some where.... Mines still got some holes and dings but all in all it will work.

Im thinking about lowering my truck now but I dont want to loose the hauling capacity.. But all the locals i work on stuff with are doing it with bags and it looks nice some i considering a small static drop...

ok i dropped my truck with four springs.. if you guys have 6 i believe hauling capacitys arent thrown out the window. i did a static drop and it lowered it 5 in the back, 7 up front since i cut out two coils. the front end will need adjustment of coarse, something i didnt do
but im gonna fix it. if you would like to and not sure, thats up to you. you could drop it two inchs in the rear with just 2 inch drop shackles

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Installed my new choke cap! Not an official Holley cap but for $20 it seems to be good. Installed it and started the truck. Instantly the truck went to 2000RPM. It hasnt done that in a long time. Instead it has been stay low and as the truck warmed the RPMs got higher. Also once warm i revved it and it instantly went down to 800 RPM. So I adjusted the fast idle and i started it up. 1200 RPM, now i know thats low but the truck is no longer cold so i left it alone. If i start it in the morning and its only 1200 then ill have to adjust it more. The best part is the test drive. I took it for a drive and no matter how fast or how much of a rev the idle went back down to normal levels. This hasnt been the case lately so im pretty sure the new cap is doing the trick...W00t W00t!! Now to just fix the speedo and fuel gauge lol

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Well the idle still goes up as the truck warms up so i dont know what the deal is with that.. Really confused as to why its doing that...Maybe its a spring issue but i have no clue really...

In other news...I bought a regular NES

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

A lil sanding, 2 coats of self etching primer, and 2 coats of high build primer. The weld and bondo areas are not perfect level so it will require some more high build primer to level it out some more. Wont end up perfect but its not too bad.
