Project C-10 SS

Finally decided to do a build thread . I have been working on this truck for a few years now and a few revisions later.

I originally picked up the truck from just south of Tacoma since it really hard to find something in good rust free condition and that's a short box up here in the Vancouver bc area.

Originally I was going to built this as a pro street truck then changed my mine after I got it able to go around the block a few times. Now I going for the pro touring look, wanting the truck to be fast and and not scared of corners.

Re: Project C-10 SS

after i got the truck box all tubed out i kinda put it on the back burner and didnt touch it much. got busy with mountain biking and turning my 2001 silverado into a beast of a truck. it had the 4.8L in it ended up getting some 18s wrapped in 33s for. put a cold air on it it, chipped it, headers and built a sick exhausts for with no cats. you could hear this thing long before you couple see it. also it had a dixie horn on it and a hidden winch,

that truck went through hell and back, it went places and did stuff some trucks would never dare to do , but one day up at the local redneck stomping grounds it got it high centered and when jacking it up the the jack slipped and punched a hole in the oil pan!!!! good thing i am metal fabricator by trade Name: Picture 124.jpg

Re: Project C-10 SS

i had that truck for about 3 years then went out and picked a 07 denali for a wicked price and put a cold air on it and chip then did headers and true dual exhuast with the dynomax x chamber muffler. its one loud truck sounds like a offshore racing boat. plus gotta have 22s on it. i plan on puttin a 2/4 drop on it around this summer then if i dont get bored of it switch it all out for air ride. heres a couple pics of the denali and the silverado which i sold to my dad for working up north in the mines.

i done alot of work on the c-10 i just gotta get the photos off the the ipad since i cant figure out who to post more then one at a time on it.Name: Picture 1046.jpg

Re: Project C-10 SS

thanks for the comments guys !

here are some specs/ what i have done to the truck

The chassis to start. I fully boxed the frame and built my own front crossmemeber and bracing to stiffen it up, built a rear shock tower for coil overs, welded the seam on the trailing arms with a cpp track bar, the motor sits almost 5 inches back and about 2 inches lower then stock location. it has a one piece steel drive shaft in it right now and a 12 bolt which is still stock. I will wait till i blow it up to upgraded the parts in it.also add hydroboost to it and will get some big brakes so it can stop.

For the motor its a 383 stroker that makes about 425hp off boost, planing on to run 5 to 10 psi until I build up a boost block that I can crank to 30psi. Got a custom build blow thru carb from quickfuel ( one slick carb ) The turbo is a Holeset HX35 off a 6.7L cummins diesel switched it over to external wastegate and running a 50mm blowoff valve and running MSD pro billet distributor with a 6al-2 box. all that is back by a 700r4 thats built up and 1800 stall on it. I planing also to add meth injection aswell

For body mods so far i tubed out the box to fit the 20s i will run on it down the road. the tail gate has been gutted and welded in with a rollpan. built a new bluck head for when i build a power actuated aluminum tonneau cover so its a nice tight fit , fuel cell and bat box are mounted in the box. Shaved the cargo light, fuel filler hole, fire wall, and any other little hole to give it a clean look. i still gotta shave the shave the cowl smooth and cut weight out of the rad support and going to pie cut the hood to get the slant look of the 67 hood but with a 72 grill.

Re: Project C-10 SS

engine sounds mean. Just wondering what how fast that turbo will spool and where it will start making the power. When you are done, Dyno numbers would be excellent.

Re: Project C-10 SS

Little more progress on the truck . Been side track with getting ready to move to a new place the last couple weeks . I got the front sheet metal all put back on and finished the engine bay wiring and kept them all hidden ( good luck finding wires) also got the rad and intercooler mounted and the air filter for the turbo intake .
