Re: Radiator Help

I bought one for my 72 c10 at auto zone. They had one with the copper tanks. Do a little research on here and in the truck section for a part number. I would think that you would want the copper tanks.

Re: Radiator Help

I bought the one from O'rileys. My original was a really heavy brass/copper with 4 cores. The one I bought has 3 cores but was the best one they had. The problem I am having now is the lower neck has a larger diameter than the original. I'm finding it very difficult finding a lower hose.

To me the copper tank is more like the original radiators I don't know if they perform any better. I went to autozone and purchased a part number A369.
See if you can find one and have them pull it and open it to see if it is copper tanks. For a A/C truck you want the 4 core radiator.

I got my information off of this site somone was selling one and it was questioned about the copper tanks because everything online says they are a plastic tank. Sure enough when I went and bought one it was copper tanks. But I really don't know if it performs any better. Your call

Re: Radiator Help

Napa had a four core on the shelf. They only carried one part number for these rigs as I had them look up 3/4 ton trucks etc too. Was surprised that the one they had was a four core.

Re: Radiator Help

If your looking at more of an upgrade than a restoration, I'd recoment a Champion radiator. It's 100% aluminum and you can find a 4 core on Ebay for $250. I'm VERY happy with mine. I was replacing a 2 core that came in my truck so I had to modify the mounts a little, but it fits good. Very nicely built and cools great!
