Re: Project 78 High Sierra

booo! The primer isnt drying fast enough..Mostly because i put it on heavy over the spots. So its a lil soft on those sections but looks much better. Once it dries ill sand it again and do it all over until its smooth!! lol

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Well i dont really know what the ratio I used was but it was close to 8:2. My cups measurement was 8:1:2 so i filled it to the 6 on the 1 line and then filled it up to the 6 on the 3rd line...So its probably not quiet 8:2. Its still a bit wet but it looks great so far and i used a 1.7 tip gun to paint with.....

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

It's looking good man! I see a signature in the near future saying I have no fear because RUS is here

after getting it done, is it really worth getting a paint gun? I keep debating on whether to buy one or not.

LOL! Well Rus wasnt there but he knows how to paint!!!! You have a good point though!!!

Im loving having a paint gun! It went on really smoothly and so much easier then a rattle can. Wider spray and in general worked great. Now I have a cheapo gun...$50 i think and its really a primer gun but sense im using enamel it works fine for this application. So It depends on what you plan to use for paint. Also you have to make sure it will work with you compressor. I have a small compressor so I had to make sure to match up the CFM rating with the gun and compressor

Yeah, that's what I hear everyone say is that it's better because it comes out more evenly and smooth, just like you said. I would mainly use it for primer because I'm going to send it to a paint shop to get painted when that time comes. As much fun as it would be to paint it myself I rather someone else do it.

Re: Project 78 High Sierra

Yeah I hear ya, I want to be able to still use my truck and not be scared to use it, so I'm going to get a decent paint job but not no 10k just something nice and simple that looks good, plus a workhorse truck can still be a show truck. Just who defines it haha
