Frame cut
Any suggestions how to fix this. Whoever had the ruck before me did this and to get more drop. Long term plans is to bag it. So I would like to fix this, I am not opposed to a c-notch so is there one out there that will cover this?

Wow, talk about what NOT to do! What a bunch of work for little gain. The axle to frame clearance is still the limiting factor here. At least the welds don't look absolutely horrible, albeit not great.
As far as repairing the frame, others will weigh in with options. I think you may end up wanting to work with what you have and just brace up that existing job. |

Wow, lots of work for 2". Lowering blocks would have been much easier. Amazing what some guys will do. Installing a C notch won't help much with this I think. The C notch is over the axle and this mess is over the coil springs. I think I'd remove that mess and repair the frame back to original if you're comfortable welding on your frame . Than C notch later. Maybe another member might have a better idea.

I am completely comfortable welding. Just scratching my head on what direction to take. Thinking about getting some plate steel weld everything back to normal with that crap in there. Once I get it all solid then remove what is there then installing the notch.

If your plan is to bag it. I would buy a step notch kit to weld in or a bolt in and illuminate the whole kitten kaboodle. I have to agree thats alot for only 2 inches,,But then alot of guys would go to great Lengths to have 2 more inches.........

Will a step notch cover that area also? I cant find a notch that is large enough to cover that area. If there is where can I get it?

That I'm not too sure....Train wrecks are not easy to clean up...it might take a little extra effort but Im sure a step notch is the way I would go

I'd fix it and box that area for strength since its been cut heated cut and heated...then I'd get stock springing or proper lowering equipment.

you might look into the porterbuilt mild rear notches i just got mine and i believe they may cover that area, it looks like the bag mount is in that area

Wow! Somebody sure knows how to go about things the hard way... In all honesty, if it were my truck I wouldn't go through the trouble of fixing it. I would just chop all of that off and start fresh from the cab back and go the custom route. Especially since you said you are comfortable welding and you are gonna bag it anyway...

 . I think a porterbuilt notch in the rear will replace that section. That's why I have those pieces available.
