Tire size, what would look best?
I just bought some Chrome Smoothies for my truck, 15x8 and need to buy some tires now. I haven't bought vehicle tires in years, so I'm kinda clueless and would like some knowledge before walking into the tire shop.
My truck now has 225/75/15 on the original wheels. Measuring the height, seems around 28". I'd like to go a little bigger to fill wheel well a little more, so I was thinking around 30" What number should I be looking for in a tire that is close to 30" and fits properly on the 8" wheel? Seems with a 15" wheel, the sizes are limited around 30" Not my truck, but this is the look I'm going for. Thanks in advance

275/60 would fill it up better.

Re: Tire size, what would look best?
Go to Tirerack.com and search by tire sizes and compare the tire specs. It gives all the dimentions on each one. I think the 255/70/15 is about 29", fits well on 8" rims. Start there.

Re: Tire size, what would look best?
I think the tires on that first truck look WAY too big. If it was lifted then sure... Looks like someone just bought the wrong size tires for it. I would say for a stock height truck go with 235/75r15 or if u have wide rims then do a 275/60r15. I wouldn't go bigger than 29".
These are 235/75r15 on mine when I first bought it. They fit the curve of the wheel well perfect and it looked really good. Posted via Mobile Device
