Re: "Eagle by Chevy" dealer option in 72

True, some of those cars set at the dealership for three years. I suspect that had something to do with the price. True American exotic though.

Re: "Eagle by Chevy" dealer option in 72

If that is true, it certainly didn't take long for them to become coveted collectibles, they were already carrying crazy price tags, for their time, by the time I started to drive in the late seventies. I used to hang out with a lot of Mopar guys and there were very impressive and rare cars in that group, and the Daytonas and 'birds were unobtainable then and this was among guys with T/A Challengers, Hurst Hemi Cudas, Hurst Big Block Darts, lots of Hemi Road Runners and on and on and they all wanted one, it was their Holy Grail. I was the odd GM guy in the group, I personally thought the Mopars were crude and poorly designed but helped them work on tons of them.

Anyway, Seventies goofyness the lot, add it all to the list that includes Pinto panel wagons, Levis Gremlins, and the over embellished car that somehow stuck the Trans Am.

Bill Wood Chevrolet in Harrison Arkansas sold a white one new, and I thought it was the gaudiest thing I had ever seen.
