Re: 1940 "project moonshine"
few updates.got the new hurst super cushion front tires on.also did the first shake down run and everything was good except the electric fan.we used a 10" flowing at 750 cfm with shroud.not going to cut it.were going to move the radiator forward and use a 16" fan flowing 2000cfm.we noted a little bit of oil near the back of the block but ran out of time to investigate.also noted a little bit of clicking coming from the rockers.we already changed the valve covers once due to rubbing inside.gonna have to pop them off to see whats up.all in all good first run.cant really get in to it yet with the new cam but it has great response with the three duece.tranny was smooth, steering was great and the scotts front and rear are awesome.more to come.thanks

Re: 1940 "project moonshine"
update. took the fan out and replaced it with a bigger one. so the oil on the back of the motor ended up being the head gasket leaking. also the clicking from the rockers was the locks coming loose. we took the head off and checked it cleaned it and put it back. also installed girdles on the rockers. got it all back together but no drive time. next week will be painting the wheels and a little more shakedown time.

Hey Chizz looks awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was curious though, what did you do about an E-brake? It doesn't look like you used the Lokar unit.

Re: 1940 "project moonshine"
Well guys finally got the truck home.put about 100 miles on it on saturday and all went well.got on it on the freeway and got tangled up in some deep grooves and just about s*** myself.it threw me into the next lane before i could do anything.that was a little scary.its amazing the questions you get asked.when you gonna paint it?how much do you want for it?i got a lot of thumbs up.rollin down the freeway at 80 mph 3" of the ground is pretty cool.thanks to all that followed this build.chizzler
