Tilt Column Question
I put a tilt column in my truck. My questions is does the neutral safety switch have to be hooked back up? Will the truck crank without it hooked up? Thanks for any help

Re: Tilt Column Question
No it will not crank. The switch has to make connection between 2 wires when it's in park or neutral. You could bypass it but why

Re: Tilt Column Question
It seems like a major job to relocate the switch. Thats why I was asking.

Re: Tilt Column Question
It was on the column. But I believe the column came out of a van. And when I put it in the truck the switch had to be removed and relocated. I found a thread showing how to relocate it. But it looks like a head ache. So that is why I was wondering if it really had to be hooked up or not. But I guess I am going to have to deal with it and relocate it.

Re: Tilt Column Question
Is there a hole close to the bottom of the truck column where it should go? There should be one there if it is a automatic truck. If its not automatic it may not it may not have one. You can always plug in safety switch into the wire harness that plugs into it and move the bottom of the switch so it thinks its in park. Then it would start fine and relocate it when you have time to do it. Also the reverse lights work off this switch as well
