Re: 48 panel truck
hotrod1, Just keep checking, I am sure they will make them cheaper sometime.
Kabwe, Thank you, I have been using the TIG alot but I did not make them. mud.man.rj, No doubt, My buddies girl friend is out driving him nuts while he is out working. He alway compains about it and then I think of how thankfull I am that my wife does not come out. She will only stick her head in and not for long. 99 to Life, Thank you, I know the stuff is very nice. The deal on it is that china does not have the EPA checking there foundries. Here they do. My buddies is a pattern maker and he told me that. I always like to buy American but with those prices it is hard to. That is a good deal on the valve covers you bought. BlueJeep, That is why I do not clean it up, or then she will try to control it like the rest of the house.HAHA I told her one time that I wanted to put a old gas pump in the living room and she just gave me the look! No sence of decorating. RootBeer 6117. LOL yes isn't that the truth. And what makes it worse for you is you probably have a lot more complainers! Shannon

Re: 48 panel truck
I am getting ready for the show. I noticed that my exhaust was a little close to my cross member so I cut and put some notches in it. Now there is plenty of room now. And boy while I was laying under there I was looking at everything I would change. Then I thought I better stop looking. It is something when you look at the difference in my work from when I started on it till now. I also put the valve covers on. They look very nice on and I want to buy a pcv / breather at the show. Plus a few other little odds and ends.

Re: 48 panel truck
99 to life, probably everyone does the if I could change it thing. It never fails , I look at something and always think that.
Well the show was great. Well the driving in was. Last year i missed the show by 2 weeks. As I said before the show gets less and less cars/trucks and the worse parts less venders. I call it the greed of the NSRA. They changed the public $14 to get in to see the 3400 cars there. I can remember when there was 5000 cars there. So sad, because it used to be soooo much better. Now after the show was something interesting. Everyone lines the streets on route 30 to watch the cars. Then all the fast stuff comes to York plus cars that do not or can not get into the show because of there age. Friday night I got together with Ken and his family to watch the cars. Saturday night I went into one of the parking lot along the highway and seen a bunch of friends. There was a lot of fast and expensive stuff out there. There was also a lot of raising hell and tire smoke. Sunday was very cloudy and the show had hardy any cars there, so my son and I left at 11. Next year I think I will not even bother to go on Sunday. So it was a great weekend with friend and cars. Shannon Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 48 panel truck
Shannon, glad you had a good time. Hate to hear the show going down on numbers, it was always one of the shows I looked forward to when I lived in Michigan. Vendors were down at the Mid-American show also, hope things pick up for them soon. Now get to work we need our fix of pics of your great work....Jim

Re: 48 panel truck
Hope everyone is having a great 4th of July. We have a picnic to go to today and they needed some tables. So I did not want to take my dually so I took the back hatch off the panel. So my son and me are riding in style to the picnic.

Re: 48 panel truck
mud.man.rj, no doubt. I love to just drive it. So I know what you mean.
oldman3, thank you. FRENCHBLUE72, thank you. youngrodder, thank you. They were surprised I used it to hall the tables. It was a great picnic. 99 to Life, it was great to actually use it as a truck. I did not feel like driving the daully. Plus I figured Garrett and me would ride in style. Shannon Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 48 panel truck
Finally I have been able to drive the panel for a while this week because of lack of rain. It was 100 degrees today and the hottest it got was 190 degrees. That was anywhere from 75 mph to creeping. So hopefully when I make the aluminium fan shroud I can get it down to the 180 that the thermostat is. Then I will see what it does when I put the AC in.

Re: 48 panel truck
shannon, glad you been gettin her out, wow yeah sooo hot. had my truck out and boy if you weren't on the open highway, you were sweating bullets. I just paid for this 52' just waiting for them to drop it off, I wasn't about to haul this 4200lb beast. Plans are to store a bunch of my parts in it to give me some garage space. In the mean time get it running, then convert it to 12v, put a dual MC and new brakes on it, do up some cosmetic interior stuff, then patch all the metal that needs patched. It will need new cab floors. Then slap some wide whites on it, maybe sell it or just keep it for a cruiser. Its just soo long, I dunno how I'd deal with blindspots unless I get some big mirrors.

Re: 48 panel truck
Henry, man that thing is long. That would be one heck of a hauler/cruiser.
As I said before I am tired of the rain. My dad called me at work yesterday morning and told me that my grandparents front wall pushed in from the bad storm we got the night before. So I left work for a few hours. Went home and grabbed my miter saw, compressor , and air nailer. It pushed out about a 6' wide by 3' height area and heaved about 16'. I think it was a clogged spout that overflowed. The soil has a lot of clay in it , so I think the wall could not take all the water and pressure. So I built a temporary wall to hold the floor joists. The insurance said they will not cover it. You got to love the insurance companys. Shannon I would post pictures but I seem to not be able to do it now. Re: 48 panel truck
Shannon -
That picture with the Burb and the tables made my morning. That thing just looks incredibly mean and I wouldn't want you to change a thing. Sorry to hear about your grandparents place. I live down in NYC and heard the horror stories of the insurance companies and Hurricane Sandy in Brooklyn and out on the island.

focusedontheprize, Thank you. I did not feel like driving my dually that day so I figure I would haul them in that instead.
I am sure there are plenty of horror stories with the insurance companies. They like when you pay them but they do not like to pay you! I feel for anyone who has to deal with these disasters. Shannon

Re: 48 panel truck
Nothing really new with the panel. It has been to a few car shows. I am getting another truck as my daily driver. It is a 96 crew cab 3500 with a 5/7 drop. It needs some work and I will paint it in the spring. I will sell my 4x4 after I drive it for a little. So I figured I would share with you guys.

Re: 48 panel truck
Oldman3 , it needs work but it is what I wanted. It is probably only a foot longer than my other one. But yes she is long!
99 to life, yep, that is my new parts getter. Picked it up on Wednesday, Thursday started to tear passengers door apart because it was badly dented due to a deer. It came with another door so Friday I sealed, then based it and cleared it. Then Saturday after work I installed the door and also cut and buffed it. Then put everything back together on it. I just could not drive it with that bad looking door. I had no rest under my azz till it was fixed. The bed I can deal with till spring. Then I will do the rest of the body work and paint it.
