'64 windo regulator swap?
Is it a difficult process to swap out the window regulator in one of our 60's trucks?
more specific a '64 The door window on the passenger side is nearly impossible to roll up. You have to hold the glass on the top and pull up while cranking it closed. Doesn't roll down all that well either. Thanks in advance,

Re: '64 windo regulator swap?
Before you replace it , remove the door panel and look for the regulator spring. ( It's one o' them kind that coils up in a roll) spray the heck out of it with Wd40 or PB blaster or whatever you have, and watch the nasty rust come rolling out of it as you roll the window up and down. It will make a mess as it runs down the door if you're doing it right. Keep spraying and rolling and it may just smooth out your problems as you work in the solvent and work out the rust.

Re: '64 windo regulator swap?
As a side note, this spring is not to be taken lightly, a friend of mine once went to the E.R. for stitches because he thought he could remove one on a Mustang. They will practically explode if you pry at them because of the tension. I don't think that it's in plain sight under the panel on 60-63 trucks like the 64-66 either.
