Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Thanks man but its a little late for that now Im WAY past the point of no return on this one. Static was cool for a truck you drive daily, no hassles getting in it and making a home depot run etc, but I have the 65 for that now so the 71 is just for fun, cruising and car shows kind of thing. Im hoping to find a 2wd 2 door Tahoe to keep around here for grocery and post office runs. I think the enclosed space in back would be better than watching boxes fly around the bed of the 65...

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Well here we go with some photos and updates! Last time the cab was off the frame and everything was ready to go get powder coated. Since then everything has come back and the frame is almost 100% assembled and plumbed. I have to say, the Porterbuilt components are first rate! Its really awesome to see how well everything literally just bolts into place. It almost looks factory. The coating on the parts is a semi gloss so it looks slightly glossier than stock and I love it.
Del got the firewall holes from the heater all welded up and as you can see, the motor got a new color too. I found a vintage Offy dual port intake manifold with a front oil fill that we put on there. It has raised lettering which will get black detailed to match the yet to be painted valve covers. Its all really exciting! Wheels will be coming soon, which are all new Delmo specials! I hope to be the first truck to hit the road with them. Lots more coming soon! What do you guys think?

Looks great. Love the Delmo valve covers. I have a set he made me with oil filler and breather holes. Favorite part of my motor.

Re: Crushing Gumby 71 Shortbed Patina build
Thank you and thanks everyone for checking out my thread. Its been a great ride so far with this build. Im really looking forward to seeing the body hit the frame and having it start to look like a truck again! I know its in good hands to make that happen. More to come! Happy 4th of July everyone! Go drive a chevy today.
