Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
No progress on my K5, still waiting for the cnc frame plates for the front. Should be here Monday. Off topic, I did get the chevell/malibu interior parts cleaned up and organized. Anybody need any resto parts for a chevelle, or have a buddy that is restoring one? I have these and do not need them, and I do not want them to go to waste. Here's some pic's of the parts, and a
couple of my only boy's helping out ! |

How much for the hound, and can he be squeezed into a flat rate box?

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Yeah, He will not sit still long enough to be boxed! He is worth a lot of money as a stud, but we are so busy these day's, not much time to do breeding. He say's he is ready! Found some extra parts tonight, have to do some research, and will post them up for sale soon.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Unless these parts are going to be given away for free, there are a few problems.
First, this is not the classified area. Second, you must post prices for each item. Please correct this and maybe re-read the rules concerning buying and selling.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
We got the new frame to front bumper plates today! Look real nice, just a little custom grinding to make them fit right before welding in. John said he is going to work on it most of the day tommorrow. Got a couple of pic's tonight, hope to have more progress and pic's of the K5 project tommorrow night! |

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Got started on the bumper today. John torched off the one frame bracket, and test fit the new one. Looks to be about perfect on that side. Gonna torch off the other side, do some grinding, and should be ready to reweld the new ones on! Getting there! I did get a couple pic's!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Well, as of today, I no longer own a Kennesaw mountain wincher front bumper. I now own a CHAOS wincher front bumper! John spent some time today tack welding in the new bumper to frame brackets, after cutting off the ones that came on this bumper that were wrong. Also used some of the tubes that I cut off of the upper part as bracing in behind! Kyle did send me the tubes I wanted for the upper part, and John will make them work also. Frame to bumper brackets are good to go, just need to take it back off, finish completely welding it up, blast it, and get it repainted. Then it's just a bolt on. Oh, forgot about the brackets John is fabbing up for the winch controller, and the holes that need to be drilled for the KC off road lights. I am real happy with the way it is looking, and I know it is going to be super stout when it is done! Got some pic's!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Got the diamond plate cut out for both sides of the top of the front bumper to make it look right. Plasma cutters are awesome! Wife gave it a once over tonight, and said it looks real good! John is kicking ass on this and it will be done soon! I'll get some pic's again soon!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Got some more done today. Diamond plate pretty much ground down on the edges and ready to weld on. Outer tubes cut and mocked up, tack welded on. Notch cut for the winch switch, and starting to fab up the bracket for the winch controller. Yes, it's starting to look like I want it to!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Oh man! Stopped in to CHAOS off road today after work. John was finish welding on my front bumper. It looks real good, should be ready for blasting and repainting on monday! Awesome, this bumper is finally going to be the way I wanted it and more! After that, he is going to design and fab up the rear bumper to kind of match. It will include a spare tire mount, and a tow hitch, etc!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Bumper looks great. Should withstand just about any normal abuse you throw at it.

Thank's VA! Checked in at the shop today. John said bumper has been blasted, primered, and has fresh paint on it! Awesome! Can't wait to see it mounted up with the winch installed!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
I didn't get to see it today, but John say's it looks good! Did not pick it up from the other shop today, gonna let it sit another day and cure up. I have decided not to mount my off road lights on it, just because of the way it turned out, I don't think they would look right. I would really like to find a couple of those old school HICKEY light mounts that hook up to the top of the windshield lip. Have only seen pictures of them once, but what are my odds of finding someone that has a decent set and wants to sell them? Anybody know what type of mounts I am talking about, or where I might be lucky and find a couple?

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!
Got the front bumper back to the CHAOS shop today. Looks real good, painted and ready to mount up, hopefully tommorrow! Man, it really has exceeded my expectations! John is already plotting out the plans for my rear bumper to match this one! I will get some pic's asap!
