4x4 CAB MOUNTS, how different are 2wd mounts?

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of doing a cab swap on my truck. I bought a set of Energy Suspension Urathane cab mounts and they're nice and all, but THEY DON'T COME WITH ANY OF THE METAL SLEEVES!!!

Mine are 35 years old and theres nothing left of them. I called KMS (the local supplier for late model stuff) and they said that the only rubber kit that they can get (i'm told comes with all hardware) is the 2wd kit.

Can I make the 2wd kit work?

I don't really want to go through LMC because I'm in the North and shipping up here takes frickin forever!!

Nobody has any experience with this?

Oh well, I found some pipe that's .84 or so OD and about 5/8 ID. It fits in there factory snug, and a 3/4 washer fits snug on the pipe, I'm going to head down to the shop now to weld washer to pipe and it will be damn close to the factory sleeves.

Re: 4x4 CAB MOUNTS, how different are 2wd mounts?

I did a set on a 4x4. Also went with the urethane. There were no sleeves, believe I didn't use any either. The urethane doesn't compress like the OEM rubber. I did look into sleeves, but after mocking one up, decided I didn't need it.

IIRC, the only sleeves I had were for the spring eye bushings. I had the complete kit as mine had been bad for about 10 years and the truck was still used to plow snow.

I'm kinda like duct tape- no real purpose, but handy to have around.

I bought a complete set from lmc truck parts for my crewcab and it had everything in it. Bolts , sleeves ,washers and shims. Not cheap but was a complete kit
