P/S Pulley ?

RE: My on-going serpentine upgrade - Is the P/S pulley pressed on or shrink-fitted? There seems to be no keyway or means of holding it on. How much heat is required to get one on? Or is there some other trick I'm not aware of?

Re: P/S Pulley ?

NO HEAT..they are pressed on. They also require a specific puller to get them on and off. You can't just put the in a shop press.

Re: P/S Pulley ?

Your local auto parts box store will have the correct puller for rent. Apply heat and buy a new pump your choice.

Re: P/S Pulley ?

Mine is off, just looking to install it. I'll check on the rental tool tomorrow. Thought about heating the "off" pulley enought to get it to "drop" on. But, thanks to all for the input.
