Check this out!
My friend at www.rockcrawler.com just hooked me up. He makes a bracket that fits the 3/4 ton truck rear axel that let you bolt the rotors and the calipers off the front of a 67-71 3/4 ton on the back.4 wheel disk brakes in a hour!. don't forget to remove or change the porportioning valve. You need equal pressure now.

That would be killer - if he will sell me a set for that price I will buy them! They are for the Eaton axle, correct? Then only have to source the rotors and calipers from someone on here, hmmm.

I'm interested, too! Got any pics of a finished, installed product? Will the bracket bolt up to a Dana 60?

A new prop valve is needed...but not equal pressure. The rear is lighter than the front...esp when braking. An adjustable one from jegs or summit would be the way to go.
Any provisions for a parking brake on his set up? (Some states need it for inspection) Last edited by Longhorn Man; 12-04-2003 at 01:44 AM. |

On the setups I have seen made to convert to disc brakes, you do usually loose your parking brake. I have seen people add one to their rear transfer case output.

Bigger trucks and motorhomes have parking brakes that mount to the driveshaft on the tail of the transmission....easy retrofit

use a 76 - 78 caddilac eldorado caliper. they will mont up to the same holes and have a parkintg break lever. those are the ONLY years that will work. just gaoot fab the cable to pull right. no biggie.
