Classic Trucks is covering the C10 Get-Together

October 6, 2013: The C10 Get-Together is the best homestyle event I've ever covered for any magazine. I'm sure you all know this thing is open to anyone from any state, or province to attend.

The longest distance prize is an autographed pair of new GPS batteries by the entire staff of the Fresno A&W Root Beer all-girl roller derby team. Actually I just made that up, but the rest is true.

I'm covering the event for Classic Trucks, and I will be looking for trucks to feature in Classic Trucks.

More information as it develops, Rene and the team are working on fun stuff to happen as I'm typing.

Thanks,

John

Oh yeah, and Stinky will be there, but he's got to ride in the back of the truck.

Re: Classic Trucks is covering the C10 Get-Together

Great news Rene.........your events are the "bomb"!!!......and are deserving of the coverage. Gotta say thanks again for bringing John and I together so my rig could get a little magazine time!!!....BIG thanks to John again for putting up with my nagging! Bummed I won't be there (motor out of truck)....and I'm sure I'll be more bummed when I see the pics and story in the mag later.

SO.....for you guys that are going and haven't been yet....get ready.....cuz Rene puts on one of the best.

Re: Classic Trucks is covering the C10 Get-Together

Hmmm, about a 16 hour drive. Leave Friday, get down there Saturday morning, hit the road Saturday night. Be home Sunday in time for a long nap and ready to get back to work on Monday morning. Wonder if my honey would care? I think she would be OK with it since you are having the event on my Bday and that way she wouldn't have to plan anything lol.

Id have to put some C10 emblems on my Scion since i doubt I would have a running C10 by then. And I also doubt my 62 Unibody would be happy around a bunch of Chevy's (even though it is Chevy powered)

CG, I think I said this some where before...You can do it. You can join the list of Long Distance Award Winners. And they all said it was worth the trip.

Dont understand why the moderator hid this way out here. Doesnt the board want participation in our events? Should have let it stay where it was.

Re: Classic Trucks is covering the C10 Get-Together

You know maybe we should have a serious long-distance award. I've been working with Eastwood maybe they can help by donating something neat. I'll find out.

I'm not surprised this post got moved, it always does.

Sacto Jim, don't worry about driving your truck, just show up if you can.

It will be great to see you guys, uh and women folk, kids, etc. too. No dogs, no cats. Not that I don't like dogs or cats, there just not allowed.

There'll be chickens, but there gonna be on the Bar-B-Q.

I might have to have add a little more concrete to the back yard to make it big enough to park everybody.

nice.. every year we bend over backwards to get the word out for ya'll. John sent me a flyer for the main page of the site that was to go up as soon as the server move is complete and the main page not needed for updating that... THIS area was made in addition to the regions to let more folks see the posts, and there is a meet and greet area that can be used to have it posted also. We also allow links in signatures, so that events like this can be put there too... Yet every year we are accused of hiding the threads, not wanting folks to go etc.. It gets old. Thanks for the supportive posts above, they are truly appreciated

My apologies Liz, It wasn't meant to be insulting. It was meant to point out that not enough people explore other parts of the site. Again I'm sorry for any hurt feelings.

Liz... we love you! Dont take suggestions as hate. Heck, I run a busines for 40 years... I get way more criticism than compliments. Still here so far and Ive used some of my customers suggestions to stay in business. Never take it personal, it usually isnt meant to be.
As far as this site? Happy happy happy!

I do not take it personally. However, the constant same accusation year after year by folks associated with this event gets old . Plain n simple.
